Rules

Rules and guidelines for AlphaWoW. The penalties for disobeying rules can vary depending on the severity of the situation.

Members of AlphaWoW's staff will NEVER ask for your password. Do not tell your passwords to ANYONE under any circumstances.

1. Major offenses
Disregarding these rules will lead to a permanent ban. People receiving a permanent ban are not longer allowed to use any service of AlphaWoW.
All permanent bans on any ingame account result in web account deletion including all ingame accounts and characters.

General
» Advertising other servers
» Pretending to be a Game Master or an Administrator
» Racism or sexism in any form will not be tolerated

Cheating/Hacking
» Gaining unfair advantage over other players by using 3rd party tools or massively exploiting bugs
» Gaining unfair advantage over other players by receiving any benefits (items, gold, etc.) obtained illegally
You are obligated to report any infringements to the server staff immediately.

Wintrading / Character farming
» Wintrading (Prearranged arena matches where one team intentionally and repeatedly loses in order to give other team free high arena rating)
» Character farming (Prearranged repeated killing characters of the opposing faction, which don't fight back, in order to get free honor points)

Accounts
» Helping permanently banned people to come back on the server by giving them your characters to play or making ingame accounts under your website account.

2. Minor offenses
Disregarding these rules will lead to a temporary ban. The duration will depend on the severity of the offense.

» Exploiting flaws in the game mechanic
» Multiboxing (Using 3rd-party programs to simultaneously control the actions of more than one character. You are still allowed to log into more than one of your game accounts at once)
» Killing battlemasters and questgivers in Shattrath City/Dalaran/any neutral area is forbidden.
» Killing other players in Shattrath City/Dalaran/any neutral area is forbidden.
» Re-logging to another account after mute/ban and complaining about mute/ban is considered Evading. You will get the same mute/ban as the first account/character.

Chatting
The following things are forbidden at global chat channels and will get you muted or banned, depending on the content, location and situation:
» Begging, spamming, flooding;
» Swearing, cursing, insulting;
» Using languages other than English;
» Using colors or caps (uppercase letters);

» A player getting channel ops in world chat is considered a system bug.
It is not allowed to give out channel ops to anyone else in the world chat or to act as a channel moderator.

3. General information

PvP
» It's a PvP server, you may attack anyone and anything inside the realm outside of sanctuaries.
» Corpse camping is allowed, however the majority of our community do not like it and doing so can make you a hated person here.

Naming policy
» Don't make characters with UPPERCASE names, l33tsp34k names, or any other chars than normal A-Z. They will be renamed or deleted.
» Don't use controversial names for characters (guilds, arena teams, etc.). They will be renamed or deleted.

Chatting
There are several global chat channels enabled on this server, accessed with the following commands:
/join World - to ask questions or to simply chat with the community (note that this is your faction only, it is not possible to communicate with the opposing faction).
/join Wowtrade - an alternative to the Auction House to be used for all buying and selling transactions.
/join Lookingforgroup - for all LFG or LFM requests. Use this channel to find players for your raid, or to find a raid.

IRC
» Only English is allowed on Alphawow IRC channel.
» No cursing, insulting, begging, spamming, flooding etc, is allowed, and can get you banned.

Lost items
» We do not refund items that were bought by mistake, accidentally disenchanted (or similar), lost due to others having access to your account or lost because of a server crash. Same applies for gold, arena points, honor and other currencies.

Trading characters
We do not support nor encourage any kind of trading and/or buying/selling characters and/or accounts between third party members. We are not responsible for any kind of lost of characters and/or accounts that can occur during such transfers. Neither are we responsible for any kind of other losses, like items, gold, weapons, levels, skills, etc.
Participating in these kind of trades and/or selling/buying will be at your own risk and will not be corrected by the AlphaWoW staff.

Database maintenance
We hold database clean ups every few weeks, in which we will remove
» All characters not used for 60+ days
» All unprotected characters, with level 10 or lower and not used for 14+ days
» Empty ingame accounts
» Every few month we're cleaning out unsed website accounts as well. Do not forget to login to them at least once per 6 month.
